Brian Malarkey threw out the playbook to introduce San Diego’s most innovative dining experience. Partnering with executive chef Joe Magnanelli, a veteran of Italian-cookery, their unique styles are displayed against the backdrop of Animae’s coal-fired kitchen – igniting Malarkey’s bright, herbaceous cuisine with Magnanelli’s bold flavors, attention to detail and pasta-making artistry. They complement and challenge one another, pairing local ingredients with flavors from all corners of Asia. The exclamation point to dining at Animae is executive pastry chef Adrian Mendoza’s sophisticated desserts.
